In the interest of patient safety and to reduce risks we have taken the following steps to reduce patient face to face contact and the spread of COVID-19. There will be exceptions and if in any doubt, please contact the surgery on 01642 618170. Due to the unprecedented situation with COVID-19 we are taking measures to reduce patient risk.
LISTEN TO ADVICE AND STAY SAFE.
We have stopped issuing paper prescriptions and will be sending prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. Please provide us with a nominated pharmacy where we can send prescriptions to. Please state which pharmacy you prefer on your request slip. Thank you for understanding.
Please note we are currently experiencing an exceptionally high amount of prescription requests which may mean the prescription process may take slightly longer, please make sure you order medication at least three days in advance. Please bear with us in this challenging time.

All urgent appointments are now being telephone triaged by clinicians to reduce face to face contact. If the clinician feels you need to be seen, arrangements will be made at the time of the consultation for you to come to the surgery. Please note our trained Reception Team will ask you for a brief indication of what your appointment is relating to. If a face to face appointment is booked for you please note this is only for yourself and you should where possible attend the surgery on your own.
Routine Chronic Disease reviews have been postponed until further notice. We may be able to carry out some reviews by telephone. You must ring the surgery if you have any concerns regarding your condition.
Please note we are only able to book face to face appointments for the following:
- Smears (if you are on treatment or have had an annual review)
- Childhood immunisations
- Post-Natal appointments
- B12's (these will be three monthly)
- Family planning (some reviews may be via telephone triage)
If you book a face to face appointment for one of the above please note this is only for yourself and you should where possible attend the surgery on your own.

'High risk patients'
If you are looking for advice on if you, a family member or friend are at a higher risk of severe illness if they contract Coronavirus please look on the Gov.uk/coronavirus website. Please note this updates daily.
All routine blood testing has been postponed until further notice unless you have seen or spoke to a clinician and they have advised it is essential for your bloods to be taken. Patients who are taking high risk medications will still require their blood monitoring.

Welcome to Queens Park Medical Centre
Queens Park Medical Centre is a purpose built surgery providing suitable access including a lift. We have also had a Loop System fitted for patients who wear hearing aids. The surgery has a no-smoking policy.
We function as a team consisting of Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Receptionists, Secretaries, Computer Operators, Domestics, Practice Pharmacist and a Practice Manager.
All patients are allocated to a particular doctor and whenever possible this is the doctor you will see should you require medical attention.

Unfortunately in common with most general practices we are experiencing a significant increase in patient demand to try and manage this we have recently recruited new members of staff. As you can understand the induction process may take a few weeks, please take this into consideration. Thank you for your cooperation.
Queens Park Medical Centre is proud to announce our involvement or recognition with the below charities and organisations to ensure that we can continue to provide the best services and care to our patients and our local community.
Queens Park Medical Centre have recently registered to become part of the Working to Become Dementia Friendly Practice 2019/2020, this is a national campaign that we have engaged with for the local area. Dementia Friendly Stockton will be providing us with lots of ongoing support for the team, this will include in-depth training for staff and also engaged with the services that are provided locally for individuals with dementia and their carers.
The National Hidden Disabilities Campaign is growing fast, whilst the surgery is not a registered distribution point for the lanyards for this charity our staff recognise the campaign, you will also see the logo in the surgery over the coming months and some staff wear the lanyard within the practice. We have had some positive feedback from patients, we may become a registered point in the future.
The T.E.E.S Charity is a fantastic charity based in Redcar. The T.E.E.S charity offers a range of services, from The Nation Period Poverty Campaign (linked with 'Hey Girls Charity), Clothing charitable donations, Education and support with transgender training and dementia awareness.
Queens Park Medical Centre have engaged with T.E.E.S to become a distribution point for products for the period poverty campaigns for our patients and the local community, these can be obtained from our nursing team. We will have them based within our patient toilets and also if you ask at reception they can be provided. Products are FREE from any of the above points.
